The shockingly common use of "Sexting"

"Sexting," the new phrase that comes along with sending a nude or seminude picture has caused much controversy and scrutiny lately. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy and CosmoGirl.com surveyed nearly 1,300 teens about sex and technology.

The results:

  • Nearly 1 in 5 teens have sexted.
Consequences of such action include:
  • Minors can be charged with child pornography.
  • In the Philip Alpert case, he was required by Florida law to register as a sex offender. And that is for life.
